Olivia Munn and John Mulaney welcomed their second child, a daughter named M\u00e9i June Mulaney, on September 14, 2024. The couple announced the news on social media this Sunday.<\/p>\n

Munn shared her joy about the new addition to their family<\/a>. She wrote, “Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true. I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded.”<\/p>\n

The couple chose to use a surrogate after Munn had a hysterectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Munn, 44, called their surrogate a “real-life angel” and expressed deep appreciation for her.<\/p>\n

“When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel,” Munn said.<\/p>\n

Mulaney added his own humorous touch to the announcement, saying, “We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.”<\/p>\n

The name M\u00e9i, pronounced “may,” means plum in Chinese. The baby girl was born in the Chinese zodiac’s year of the dragon.<\/p>\n

Munn’s journey to this moment has been challenging. On March 13, doctors diagnosed her with Luminal B cancer, an aggressive type found in both breasts. She faced this diagnosis despite a normal mammogram the same winter and no family history of breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Munn underwent aggressive treatment, including a hysterectomy and egg freezing. She and Mulaney discussed growing their family during this time.<\/p>\n

“John and I talked about it a lot, and we don’t feel like we’re done growing our family, but [we] didn’t know if I would have to do chemotherapy or radiation,” Munn explained.<\/p>\n

The couple, who got married on Fourth of July weekend, also have a son, Malcolm, born in November 2021.<\/p>\n
