The Recording Academy has unveiled the nominations for the 2025 GRAMMY Awards, showcasing a pop renaissance and continued dominance by women across genres. Beyoncé leads the pack with 11 nominations, bringing her career total to an astounding 99 and cementing her status as the most-nominated artist in GRAMMY history.
Women have made a strong showing this year, with six of the eight leading nominees being female artists. They’ve dominated major categories like Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best R&B Performance, and Best Latin Pop Album.
Beyoncé’s impressive run continues as she expands her musical repertoire. She’s picked up her first nominations in the Country & American Roots Music field, including nods for Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Miley Cyrus, Best Country Song, Best Country Album, and Best Americana Performance. The superstar already holds the record for most GRAMMY wins with 32 trophies.
Post Malone has also ventured into new territory, earning his first Country & American Roots Music nominations. He’s up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song for “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen, as well as Best Country Album for “F-1 Trillion”.
Several artists have scored their first nominations in unexpected categories. Luke Combs got his first nod for Best Song Written For Visual Media with “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” from the movie “Twisters”. Alicia Keys earned her first nomination for Best Musical Theater Album with “Hell’s Kitchen”. John Legend picked up his first nominations for Best Children’s Music Album and Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella.
Charli XCX has finally broken through with her first solo nominations. She’s up for seven awards, including Album Of The Year for “brat”, Record Of The Year for “360”, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Apple”.
Taylor Swift continues to make GRAMMY history, but we’ll need more information to specify her latest achievement.
“This year’s nominations reflect the incredible talent and creativity in our music community,” said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “We’re seeing artists push boundaries and explore new genres, which makes for an exciting and diverse group of nominees.”
