A smashed Taylor Swift guitar has found its way to eBay, stirring up a mix of interest and controversy. The instrument, initially bought for $4,000 at a charity auction, is now up for grabs to the highest bidder.

The guitar’s journey took an unexpected turn when it got smashed in a viral video. Now, it’s back in the hands of the original charity, the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner in Texas. They’ve put it up for sale to support agricultural education for local youth.

The eBay listing shows photos of what looks like Taylor Swift’s signature and designs inspired by her Eras Tour. The seller claims the guitar was signed by Swift herself. But there’s a catch.

TMZ reported that Swift’s merchandise company disputes this claim. They say neither the signature nor the guitar is official. What’s more, they haven’t issued any certificate of authenticity for this item.

Adding to the confusion, the original auction certificate claims the guitar was personally signed by Swift and guaranteed authentic. But eagle-eyed fans noticed it lacks a seal typically found on legitimate certificates.

Despite these question marks, the auction has kicked off with a starting bid of $100. The guitar’s condition is listed as “damaged,” which is no surprise given its starring role in that viral smashing video.

As the bidding continues, everyone’s wondering who’ll end up owning this piece of viral memorabilia. Will it become a prized collector’s item or just a quirky conversation starter? Either way, the real winners will be the young aspiring farmers who’ll benefit from the sale proceeds.
