Former first lady Melania Trump stands up for her nude modeling work. The 45-second clip, posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, promotes her upcoming memoir and challenges what she sees as unfair criticism.
Mrs. Trump asks, “Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot? Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?”
The video shows well-known nude statues and artworks as Melania speaks. She says, “We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”
Melania’s modeling career started when she was 16. A Slovenian photographer discovered her, and she signed with a Milan agency a couple of years later. She worked in Paris and Milan before moving to New York in 1996. There, she landed several major magazine covers, including a nude shoot for GQ in 2000.
The former first lady’s memoir, titled “Melania,” will come out on October 8. It will include stories and images she’s never shared before. The book will cover important childhood moments, meeting Donald Trump, and her time as first lady.
Mrs. Trump has been more active on social media lately, mostly to promote her book. Four days ago, she posted about the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago:
“I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America. The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings. This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected.”
Melania, born in Slovenia, started dating Donald Trump in 1998. They got married in 2005, and she became a naturalized American citizen in 2006.
