Meghan Markle might write a book about her time as a royal, insiders say. The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, are reportedly thinking about sharing more of their experiences with the public.
The couple’s publishing deal with Penguin Random House includes four books. They’ve already released two: Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” and Meghan’s children’s book “The Bench”. This leaves room for two more books, possibly including Meghan’s own memoir.
A source told Closer magazine that the Sussexes’ friends believe it’s time to “take the gloves off and do away with the diplomacy”. Another insider shared with the publication that Meghan will want to write her memoir eventually, and Harry might update “Spare”.
“Eventually, Meghan is going to want to write her memoir, Harry is going to want to update Spare, and they are going to want to sit down and promote themselves on TV. They will not shy away from answering questions about the royals… For now, they’re biding their time.”
This isn’t the first time Meghan has hinted at having more to say. In a 2022 interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut, she mentioned finding an old diary at Frogmore Cottage.
“You go back and you open drawers and you’re like: ‘Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there?'”
She also implied she had more to reveal, saying:
“I can say anything… I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song.”
The couple’s previous revelations have caused quite a stir. During their CBS interview, Meghan spoke about having suicidal thoughts while living in the UK, which sparked speculation about what else they might share.
Royal biographer Tom Bower warns that Meghan’s potential book could seriously impact the royal family. However, the Sussexes haven’t confirmed any plans for new books or TV appearances yet.
For now, it seems the couple is taking their time before making any big moves. Fans and critics alike will have to wait and see what, if anything, Meghan and Harry decide to share next.
