Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have landed in Lagos, Nigeria to promote the Invictus Games, following a notable absence at a royal event in the UK. Their visit comes amid reports of another potential royal snub involving Prince Harry’s military title. Both attended events connected to their charity work, despite recent family tensions.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s agenda in Nigeria is packed with engagements focusing on the upcoming Invictus Games. They visited local schools, met with injured service personnel, and participated in several sports activities including basketball and polo. Additionally, they are scheduled for a training session involving a local initiative named “Nigeria: Unconquered,” and will host a reception for military families.

Before arriving in Lagos, Prince Harry was in the UK to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral. Notably, King Charles hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace on the same day but did not meet his son due to conflicting schedules. A spokesman for Prince Harry stated that the monarch and his son did not meet during Harry’s brief UK visit due to the King’s full programme.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle opted out of the UK segment of their trip, staying back in Los Angeles before joining her husband at Heathrow Airport prior to their joint travel to Nigeria. Furthermore, rumors about an alleged royal snub have intensified as Prince William is reportedly set to become colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps — a position previously held by Prince Harry.
