Whoopi Goldberg, age 68, was visibly emotional during a special reunion for the 30th anniversary of ‘The Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit’. The event took place on the popular TV show “The View”. Joined by former cast members, Goldberg celebrated the milestone with a choir performance that moved her to tears.

Goldberg participated in a nostalgic journey as cast members from the film, including Lauryn Hill, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kathy Najimy, were present. They performed the song “Oh Happy Day” with Goldberg wearing a nun habit and veil. This heartwarming reunion was not just about music but memories too. Amongst these was an on-set graduation for David Kater recounted during Wednesday’s episode. Kater said, “We couldn’t go back because production wouldn’t allow it because we were on location…And this beautiful lady right here just surprised us with the most amazing gift, which was basically corralling everybody and giving us an on-set graduation.”

Visuals shared by People magazine showed footage of this joyous occasion. Recorded on a San Francisco basketball court with everyone wearing white caps and gowns, the graduates are seen throwing their caps into the air. During the performance of “Oh Happy Day”, cameras captured Goldberg’s emotional reaction as she wiped away tears.

Last month, Whoopi reflected on her role in both installments of the Sister Act series; discussing her experience during filming. Her accompanied recollection hinted at how impactful both films have been for her personally and professionally.

The reunion captured meaningful connections made nearly three decades ago that evidently remain strong today. For many fans and participants alike, ‘Sister Act 2’ continues to be more than just a film – it’s a heartfelt memory woven through pivotal moments of their lives.

This event underlines not only Whoopi Goldberg’s influential career but also showcases how communal experiences like these can profoundly impact even its most renowned participants.
